Rejuvenate Awareness Campaign
Poster Design

Rejuvenate aims to persuade people to read more as well as encourage people to put down their devices and give their eyes a rest. Literacy in America decreases each year and poses a big problem socially, politically, and in every day circumstances.

Task
Using a theme of the designer's choosing, create a visual metaphor. Then, make a 30 by 40 inch poster, animated post for social media, and an app icon. In addition, there were restraints with color. We could only use two colors and could not use black.

Solution
The visual metaphor I made was a hydrangea growing from an open book and came up with the slogan "take a screen break." The hydrangea is meant to represent the brain as well as growth, peace, and a healthier lifestyle.
Result
"Rejuvenate" uses calming colors and white space to create a breath of fresh air in poster form. While the idea of a huge poster was daunting, I realized that only meant more room to play with negative space. I'm especially happy with the animation since this was my first time actually doing it!

Process

While I preferred the integration of imagery, the symbol did not meet the constraints of no black. I decided to draw the symbol myself, insuring that I was only using two colors and no black.
